If you've been in the industry for a while, our paths may have crossed!

In 1994 I worked for Allergan and was involved with the launch of Botox in the UK. Since then I've been involved in the initiation and development of many different business models from Wigmore Medical's distribution and training business to the launch of FACE, the first UK international conference dedicated to aesthetics in 2003.


In addition, with my business partner Martyn Roe, in 2002 we launched The ConsultingRoom, the UK's first Aesthetic consumer based website, and we distributed HydraFacial for many years, until we sold it in 2020.

I've learnt a tremendous amount about different business models in the aesthetic arena, but the one probably most relevant to you was launching and growing a leading midlands based medical aesthetic clinic, clinical trials and training centre called MediZen, with my, then, business partner Dr David Eccleston.

Over a 15 year period we experienced and overcame numerous challenges to grow the business to a £1,000,000+ turnover before I sold my shares as I moved to Wales to be nearer to my grandchildren.
Out of all the businesses that I have been involved in, growing the clinic was definitely the most difficult, and where I personally really valued external help and support.

My Biology degree didn't really help me as an entrepreneur, so I had to pay for education and guidance to help me learn the language of business. From the many services that I've paid for Entrepreneurs Circle (EC) was the one that I clicked with most and I've been a member since 2010. I think that their support and education is second to none and has helped me through the many challenges that I have faced in growing and then selling different aesthetic businesses.

I became a certified coach with them in 2021. This has enabled me to refine my own coaching skills alongside being able to help my clients with world class practical business building training and support from EC.

Outside of the time that I devote to helping aesthetic clinic owners, my wife and I (and Neville, our red setter) like to spend time with my children and 3 grandchildren. In addition, I'm trying to become as sustainable as possible with fruit/vegetables and chickens in a 1.5 acre plot.

I'm also an advocate for sustainability and regenerative practices in business and love to help my two daughters with their own ventures. Zoe is in our sector with Authentic Aesthetics and Madi makes Kimchi and Sauerkraut at The Crafty Pickle.
